2014 Finale Southern Oregon Pinot Port
Although still dense in color, this port is starting to exhibit signs of its aging capability. And with that age comes the wonderful aromatics you’d expect; warm brown sugar, crushed hazelnuts, and a light smokiness kindle together with bright raspberry to create a very inviting opening sip. There is a lingering warmth that carries the wine to finish with an accompaniment of raspberry and black cherry, almond essence, and subtle hints of leather. The mild tannins and rich body make this a versatile wine that pairs well with savory, salty, and most other cheeses but will also complement decadent chocolate desserts without missing a step.
