2019 Adagio Rogue Valley Pinot Noir
This single clone estate Pinot Noir opens with a fun and frenetic nose of cola, cranberry, baking cherry, vanilla, and a dash of grapefruit citrus. The palate is more focused with a darker fruit profile, but also more centralized around spice with elements of nutmeg, cinnamon, and a hint of anise. The finish carries the spice but only as a supplement to the burgeoning earthiness and dark cherry elements and leaves you with a wonderful tension between tannin and acid. This wine is fun and approachable now, and lends itself as a great food wine, but will become more focused and succinct over the next 5 years.
