An earthy nose starts the journey with this deep colored Italian wine as wet soil, cedar, and black plum collide with a hint of cola. The oak integrates on the palate and offers a slight sweetness but juicy cranberry, dark raspberry, and black plum continue the brooding temperament. The finish is where it lightens up with a rambunctious acid profile that compliments the fine tannins exceptionally. For those that love a textured wine, this is tasting beautifully, but will most definitely soften and expand over the next decade yielding a wonderful ‘Tribute’ to classic Barbera wines.
